CHENGDU PROPERTY COMPLEMENTS EXISTING PORTFOLIO OF LIFESTYLE HOTELS

 

, 8 May 2008:  Singapore-based leading hotel management company, PARKROYAL Hotels & Resorts, has been appointed by Chengdu Xinda Real Estate Development to manage its 361-room property in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province in .

 

PARKROYAL is privileged to be a partner in the master development by Chengdu Xinda Group that is developing this landmark project at Nanmen, a vibrant and urban part of Wuhou district.

 

The signing ceremony today marks PARKROYAL’s first foray into the market and its first pure management agreement.

She further elaborated, “We have been and are actively seeking to acquire and/or manage hotels in key and emerging cities in .  The country is a fast-growing business and leisure tourism market.”

 

“After more than two years of market research and discussions with various international hotel management companies, we finally selected PARKROYAL because of their advanced management concepts that are customized for the Chengdu market,” said Mr Xiang Zhi Xin, Chairman of Chengdu Xinda Real Estate Development.

 

Chengdu’s location, adjacent to the eastern border of Tibet, and its rich cultural heritage dating back over 2,000 years, make it one of the most beautiful cities in China and one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in the country.

 

Chengdu Xinda Real Estate Development is accelerating the construction of the hotel with the aim of opening it in late 2008.  PARKROYAL Chengdu will reflect the theme of a sophisticated urban oasis embodying the local culture and heritage of Chengdu .

 

The property will primarily cater to business travelers offering ample business meeting and networking venues, seamless and innovative technology for efficient communication, as well as facilities and services that discerning business travelers have come to appreciate in 5-star accommodations.

The signing of the PARKROYAL Chengdu management agreement brings the total number of PARKROYAL hotels in Asia to seven.  Its current portfolio includes two hotels in , two in , one in and one in .
