The area was originally redeveloped for the 2000 Olympics and the facilities continue to be used for sporting and cultural events, which include Sydney Royal Easter Show, Rugby Union and Rugby League, National Swimming, V8 Supercars and Athletics events. The venue also hosts the Big Day Out music festival and numerous international and national local acts.
The Olympic Park arena includes Allphones Arena and ANZ Stadium, Sydney Showground, International Aquatic, Tennis, Hockey and Athletic Centres. PARKROYAL Parramatta is located 6km drive from the complex or a 10 minute train ride from Parramatta Train Station.
