National Monument and the Lake Gardens

National Monument and the Lake Gardens

Appreciating history is a value that I want to instil in my children, so if you think alike, a good place to learn about Malaysia is by visiting the National Monument and the famous lake gardens surrounding it. The National Monument was built to honour the heroes who fought and died for Malaysia’s independence. As a bonus, once you are in the vicinity, the famous Kuala Lumpur Bird Park is just a few minutes away.

Taman Tasik Titiwangsa

Taman Tasik Titiwangsa

Taman Tasik Titiwangsa is the best place for a family day out in the sun, with a stunning view of Kuala Lumpur skyline. Besides a full jogging track around the big lake, there are also spots for picnic, jolly boating activity, tennis and squash courts as well as a remote control car racing track! But what we love is definitely the scenery!

KLCC Park

KLCC Park

While Mommy enjoys her shopping in Suria KLCC Shopping Center, an option for Daddy and kids would be the KLCC park. This park is situated right in front of the renowned Twin Towers, featuring paved walkways and greenery for recreation and also a public pool for the kids to enjoy!

Aquaria at KLCC

Aquaria at KLCC

If there is one thing that I can say about Aquaria, it’s remarkable! Our little girl had so much fun getting to know the many species of fish and aquatic life, whether is it fresh water or salt water. Aquaria have a vast collection of aquatic animals including a few bull sharks and manta rays! All of these animals are well taken care of, in a setup that almost perfectly resembles their natural habitat. Opening Hours: 10.30am – 8pm.

Sunway Lagoon

Sunway Lagoon

If your family enjoys splashing in the water and adventurous rides, Sunway Lagoon is the place to go. The thing we love about Sunway Lagoon is that it has 5 theme parks within, making it suitable for children of any age. If you have a toddler like me, you can take her to the Wildlife Park to look at animals, or enjoy a splash at Little Zimbabwe in Water Park. Opening Hours: 10am – 6pm.
