Husband and wife Leong Kin Wah and Ng Choon Lai from Penang beamed with joy when they found out that they have won the grand prize of Parkroyal Penang; Spend Your Way to the Gold Coast Promotion 2005.

The resort's well-responded Spend Your Way promotion ended, and a lucky draw held at the hotel's Javana Lounge was witnessed by hotel guests Professor Robert Kennedy and his wife Jillian Kennedy from the United Kingdom. Guests and customers having spent at least RM200 were entitled for participation in the promotion. It was held from January until December 2005, and the grand prize being a free trip for two persons to the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.

Leong, 42, won the exclusive prize of return air tickets for two persons to the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia which includes seven days and six nights accommodation plus spending money of AUD$1000 which is equivalent to about RM 2722.

Leong and his wife told that they least expected to have won, as they have never won such an exclusive prize before in their lives. "We are happy for this to happen and very excited. This will be our first visit to the Gold Coast. I almost deleted the e-mail message that I received from the hotel informing me of the remarkable news! Normally, when I see the subject message which begins with Congratulations, I will have it deleted without reading as it could be another junk mail. I am glad that Parkroyal continues to hold such interesting promotions for their customers to walk away with excellent prizes," he added, during a prize presentation ceremony held at the hotel recently. Present to give away the prize were hotel general manager Mark Losi and financial controller Mary Ann Harris. Mr. Losi who is from Brisbane, Australia, congratulated the couple, and he proudly introduced the places of interest at the Gold Coast to them.

Hotel public relations manager Karen Chee told that the hotel would be launching yet another attractive promotion soon. "At the Parkroyal, guests can expect to enjoy many exciting promotions and for 2006, the promotion will see to more prizes being presented to our regulars."
