PARKROYAL Penang Hotel

Penang, 22 April 2009 – Mr Francois G. Sigrist , PJK (pictured below) has been appointed as the new General Manager of five-star tropical resort and spa, PARKROYAL Penang, Malaysia.

Mr Sigrist previously served as the General Manager for the Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa, Langkawi, Malaysia for over 6 years. He started his hotel career in 1982 as a management trainee with Four Seasons Hotels in Houston and San Francisco in the United States. He later joined the Inter-Continental Hotel Group in Geneva, Switzerland and Bangkok, Thailand. Between 1991 and 2002, Mr Sigrist worked in Malaysia, first with Shangri-La in Kuala Lumpur and then as the General Manager of the Equatorial Hotel, Penang. Prior to joining the Meritus Pelangi, he served as General Manager at the Sunway Hotel, Hanoi, Vietnam.

With his solid resort and Malaysian postings, he is well-suited to take over the helm of PARKROYAL Penang, providing solid leadership, based upon the strong foundations he has built through his extensive Food & Beverage and General Management career experiences.

Mr Sigrist has a Management Diploma from the Lausanne Hotel School in Switzerland (1978 to 1981) and He is a Swiss national.

Mr. Francois Sigrist replaces Mr Mark Losi who recently moved to Pan Pacific Orchard in Singapore as General Manager.
