Initiated by the global conservation organization - WWF, Earth Hour is a climate change initiative inviting individuals, businesses, governments and communities to switch off lights for an hour with the goal to create a global platform of support for climate change.
On 27 March 2010 at 8:30 pm, PARKROYAL Yangon will join over one thousand cities and towns in more than 80 countries to turn off our lights for one hour in support of the global call for action on climate change.
Within the hotel, lighting in the public areas such as Lobby, all outlets, guest room corridors and some private areas such as staff canteen, locker, back of house corridors and operation offices will be dimmed or turned off.
While the above areas are dedicated to the lights-off initiative, emergency lighting and security systems will remain active, in accordance to the hotel's safety regulations.
In addition, PARKROYAL Yangon has organized series of activities for staff including 'Cartoon Contest on Reducing Waste and Energy', serving "green theme" meal and candle light lunch on 26 & 27 March 2010.
PARKROYAL Yangon has joined this meaningful cause in showing that we care for our enviroment and society.
