Yangon, Myanmar, 27 November 2009. The organizing committee of PARKROYAL YOUTH ART AWARD 2009 announced the winners of the contest today. This year's competition theme is "Sights of Myanmar". The contest was opened to Myanmar Nationals from age 14 to 20 years. It is the second year of this art contest for young local artists.

Entries were judged by Dr S Chandrasekaran - Head of Department of Fine Art, Nanyang Academy of Fine Art, Singapore and honorable judges from Myanmar include U Sony Nyein, U Tin Win, U Sein Myo Myint and U Kyaw Thaung, based on 3-major criteria, expression of theme, technique and creativity.

Second Prize Winner : Lin Kyi Phyu Thant
(Trophy, Certificate, USD 500 & Acrylic Color Wood Box Set worth USD 80)

(Trophy, Certificate, USD 300 & Acrylic Color Wood Box Set worht USD 80)
As the quality of entries are so worthy of note, the organizing committee decided to offer additional 7-merit award. Winners are -

"We are happy to organize this annual youth art contest and the quality of entries have been of extremely highly standard" said by Mr Teddy Chia, General Manager of PARKROYAL Yangon, Myanmar. One of our group important core commitments is to develop and enrich the community and culture of the area where we operate. To foster this commitment, PARKROYAL Yangon, Myanmar chooses to develop the artistic talent of young Myanmar painters through this competition.
Prizes are presented to winners on 27 November 2009 on Prize Award Ceremony held at Grand Ballroom, PARKROYAL Yangon, Myanmar. Winners, judges, representatives from PARKROYAL Yangon, Myanmar, Nanyang Academy of Fine Art (NAFA) Singapore and RV CENTER INTERNATIONAL, guests of honors, press and media attend the ceremony.
The other supporting organizations of PARKROYAL YOUTH ART AWARD 2009 are The Nanyang Academy of Fine Art (NAFA) Singapore, an internationally recognized art institution and RV! CENTER INTERNATIONAL, a highly accredited education service provider in Myanmar.
