Sydney Royal Easter Show Traditions

The Sydney Easter Show’s famous traditions are what make it so special for locals, with some core events boasting a generations' long history. The Grand Parade is one such event, where a showcase of all the competition winners – including animals, producers and woodchoppers – stampedes through Spotless Stadium in a special procession that’s taken place every year since 1907.

Another crowd favourite is the District Exhibits, where each of Australia’s five regions are represented in a colourful display created using fresh local produce from the respective areas. More than 10,000 fresh vegetables, fruits, grains and pulses go into making each exhibit, much of which is available for purchase by visitors outside the exhibition hall.

Sydney Royal Easter Show Carnival and Entertainment

Outside the traditional events there is plenty of entertainment for visitors to enjoy. The show is home to Australia’s largest carnival, boasting more than 100 games and rides that range from family friendly fun to adrenaline-pumping roller coasters. Other events, like the Wood Chopping and Chainsaw Challenge and the nightly Freestyle MotoX show, all combine to make the Sydney Royal Easter Show an event to remember.
