ABOUT THE CENTRAL RAILWAY STATION
First built in 1877 by the British, the original station was destroyed by Japanese bombers during World War II. The station was rebuilt based on Burmese traditional architectural styles to the structure it is today.
As the gateway to Myanmar’s countryside, a number of railways pass through or terminate at Yangon Central Station. Hop onto the popular Circle Line for an authentic experience of local life in Yangon, with chatty locals carrying produce to eager food and drink vendors hawking their fares.
