PARKROYAL Saigon cares for children with cancer in Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh City, 26th February 2015: Demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility, PARKROYAL Saigon has donated VND42,180,000 to Oncology Hospital located at 3 No Trang Long St., Binh Thanh District, Ho Cho Minh City.
The money was raised from a charity drive conducted over the recent year-end festive season, which received generous contributions from the hotel’s guests, staff, corporate clients and business partners. The donation will go towards the care of 170 children at the hospital.
The Oncology Hospital is the largest cancer treatment hospital in the city. It has been experiencing a sharp increase in the number of patients as many severe cases which require constant medical care get referred from over-capacitated provincial hospitals.
Mr. Andrew Donadel, General Manager of PARKROYAL Saigon, together with the hotel’s heads of departments visited the hospital to hand over the donation to "GOLD BOOK FUND" - QUỸ SỔ VÀNG, the charity office who will facilitate the allocation of funds to the beneficiaries. The team also went around the hospital to meet with the patients and offer them words of comfort and encouragement.
“In line with one of PARKROYAL’s brand pillars of Local Connections, PARKROYAL Saigon is proud and privileged to be able to engage our guests, associates and partners in a collective effort to help improve lives within the local community. Our hearts are with the children warded at the Oncology Hospital and we hope that the donation will go some way towards aiding their medical treatment and restoring them back to good health,” says Andrew Donadel, General Manager, PARKROYAL Saigon.
